Ancient shorelines – Dataset
Í gagnasettinu eru fimm landupplýsingaþekjur um forn fjörumörk á Íslandi sem innihalda heildstætt yfirlit og samræmda kortlagningu á landformum sem gefa upplýsingar um forn fjörumörk á síðjökultíma og í upphafi nútíma. Upplýsingarnar eru fengnar úr fræðigreinum, jarðfræðikortum, vettvangsferðum og óbirtar persónulegar upplýsingar frá Hreggviði Norðdahl og Halldóri G. Péturssyni. Í gagnasettinu eru líka upplýsingar um landform og rask fjörumarka, ásamt tillögum að verndarsvæðum. Í kortavinnunni voru notuð Maxar gervitunglamynd og ArcticDEM landhæðarlíkan sem grunnar.
The dataset consists of five geospatial data layers representing ancient shorelines in Iceland. Together, they provide a comprehensive overview and harmonised mapping of landforms that indicate ancient shorelines during the Late Glacial period and the early Holocene. The information is derived from scientific publications, geological maps, field surveys, and unpublished personal data provided by Hreggviður Norðdahl and Halldór G. Pétursson. The dataset also includes information on landforms and the disturbance of ancient shoreline features, as well as proposed conservation areas. Maxar satellite imagery and the ArcticDEM digital elevation model (DEM) were used as base data for the mapping.
