Positive values, such as 1, indicate terrain higher than the surroundings, such as ridges, hilltops, or convex landforms. NoData-gildi eru skráð sem -9999. [EN] The Topographic Position Index (TPI) dataset was derived from the 10 m resolution ÍslandsDEM. The elevation raster was processed using the GDAL raster tpi tool, which calculates TPI for each cell by comparing the elevation of the central pixel with the mean elevation of its surrounding 3 × 3 neighbourhood. The output is a single-band raster representing local relative topographic position. Negative values indicate areas lower than their surroundings, values close to zero indicate relatively even terrain, and positive values indicate areas higher than their surroundings. NoData values are represented as -9999.
