Kortlagning fjörumarka byggir meðal annars á því að hægt sé að draga línur eftir hæð yfir sjávarmáli og því var mikilvægt að styðjast við gott hæðarlíkan. Á Náttúrufræðistofnun var útbúið fyrir þetta verkefni hæðarlínugrunnur sem fengin er úr landhæðarlíkaninu ArcticDEM (sjá slóð á tengd gögn hér fyrir neðan, Hæðarlíkan útgáfa 1.0 -- DEM 1.0). Útbúnar voru hæðarlínur með 5 m hæðarbili, frá 5-100 m hæð yfir sjó. Þetta eru vinnugögn sem eru óyfirfarin og hrá, en þau nýttust vel í verkefninu.

The mapping of raised shorelines relies, among other things, on the ability to delineate lines based on elevation above sea level. It was therefore important to use a high-quality digital elevation model (DEM). For this project, the Icelandic Institute of Natural History generated a contour-line dataset derived from the ArcticDEM digital elevation model ( See the link to the related metadata below). Contour lines were generated at 5 m intervals, ranging from 5 to 100 m above sea level. These are preliminary working data that have not been reviewed or validated and remain in their raw form. Nevertheless, they proved very useful for the project.
