Fjörumörk - efstu fjörumörk á síðjökultíma
Raised shorelines – Late Glacial Marine Limits
Landupplýsingaþekja (flákar) sem sýnir mögulega útbreiðslu hæstu stöðu sjávar á síðjökultíma og byggir á ummerkjum efstu fjörumarka, sem fram koma í þekju um fjörmörk-línur. Forn sjávarstaða er mismunandi eftir landssvæðum sem tengist stöðu jökla í lok síðasta jökulskeiðs og varðveislu fjörumarka. Í kortaglugga birtist tvennskonar framsetning; heildaryfirlit yfir efstu fjörumörk (einn litur) og staða sjávar flokkuð eftir hæð yfir sjávarmáli (litaskali). Á Suðurlandi, frá Markarfljóti að Jökulsárlóni, er eyða en þar hafa ekki enn fundist ummerki eftir forn fjörumörk.
A geospatial data layer (polygons) showing the potential extent of the highest sea level during the Late Glacial period, based on evidence of the uppermost shorelines represented in the shoreline (lines) data layer. Ancient sea levels vary across different regions of the country, reflecting differences in glacier positions at the end of the last glaciation and the preservation of shoreline features. The map viewer displays two types of visualisation: an overall overview of the uppermost shorelines (shown in a single colour) and sea-level positions classified according to elevation above sea level (shown using a colour scale). There is a data gap along the south coast, between Markarfljót and Jökulsárlón, where no evidence of ancient shorelines has yet been identified.
